Phaisa Oside La historia de

Phaisa came to New Promise Home from her grandmother’s home. Her parents died in an accident in Mombasa when Phaisa was one year old. She is the youngest of four children, and her three brothers are taken care of by her relatives. However, no one was able to care for Phaisa. When she first arrived at New Promise Home, Phaisa cried all the time. She rarely smiled and isolated herself. Phaisa struggled with food insecurities and was afraid of the beds and bathroom. Everything was new to Phaisa because these things were not available in her grandmother’s home.

When Marion arrived, Phaisa found her best friend! Marion truly helped Phaisa open up and receive love. Their favorite game to play together is mama and baby. Phaisa is joyful and loves to play. Phaisa loves to dance and recite memory verses. Her teachers say that Phaisa is learning quickly in school.

He reminded us that we’re not a “normal church following a program,” but a prophetic, faith-filled, grace-grounded church that must listen for what God is saying now. Charlie’s courage, stewardship, and “Here I am, send me” posture challenges us to carry that same mantle.

There’s a big difference between religion and a relationship with God. Religion often focuses on sacrifice and self-denial as a way to try to reach God. But for those of us who believe in Jesus Christ and understand His grace, we know salvation is not something we can earn.

The Vida Church family was blessed this Sunday to hear from one of our leaders, James Madison, while Pastors Ben & Kara Diaz and family were ministering in Israel. James brought us a powerful and timely reminder on how to fight our battles. Every one of us faces them—and the story of King Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20

Back in January, Pastor Kara spoke about “God, Our Rewarder” from Isaiah 55:6. Now, at the halfway point of the year, the Holy Spirit is calling us to recalibrate—to pause, evaluate, and make any adjustments necessary to ensure we’re still walking in the perfect will of God.
